FAQs
Where are you located?
I am based in Lowgap, NC, just outside of Mount Airy, NC. I make all my cakes in my certified home kitchen and once you have booked your cake we can make arrangements for collection or delivery.
Do you offer delivery?
I do offer a delivery service, but this is limited to Weddings and larger cakes (with a fee) and my availability. Usually, all my clients will pick up from a local location between Lowgap and Mount Airy.
Please reach out for a delivery quote or collection arrangement.
Can you make me a custom flavor?
If there are specific flavors you have in mind that you don’t see on my menu please do get in touch - I often create custom flavors for weddings and other events - we can also mix and match different elements from my existing menu.
How far in advance do I need to book a cake?
If you know you would like a cake for a certain date, get in touch as soon as you can! Weddings are booked several months in advance and other celebration cakes are usually booked 4-8 weeks before. I can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests so it is always worth checking.
How do I book a cake?
Fill in the booking form or send me an email - Make sure you include as many details as you can including the date you require the cake for - how many guests you would like it to serve - flavors you like and any colors styles or themes you are interested in.
What if I need to cancel my order?
When confirming your booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required for orders over $100 and the full balance is due the day prior to your collection date for celebrations and two weeks prior for weddings. Should you, unfortunately, have to cancel, with good notice it may be possible to transfer your cake to another date should I have availability or be reimbursed. If you should need to cancel within 2 weeks (celebrations) and 1 month (weddings) the full balance will be due for your cake.
Do you make other things apart from celebration cakes?
I make all sorts of treats - cake hearts, cakesicles, brownies/blondies, custom sugar cookies, which can be ordered from me at any time. I also make treat boxes year-round and for certain special occasions.
Do you make fondant or novelty cakes?
No, I am a buttercream specialist - I sometimes use small amounts of fondant as decoration for my cakes but I do not create fondant cakes. I pride myself on being able to create beautiful cakes to fit within most “themes". They are normally a twist on traditional novelty cakes - making things fun and beautiful.
How do you cut tall cakes?
I recommend cutting a cake in square cuts (visualize a grid) and cut a 1" deep cut all the way down the face of the cake, push the whole slice onto a large plate or cutting board, and then divide and cut smaller portions and distribute. Continue cutting this way for the next 1" deep slice until the end. You will maximize your portions using this method.
